Oilon’s low-emission burners deliver near-zero emissions at a food processing plant in California
Nationwide Boiler Inc. has completed a boiler project for a major food manufacturer in California, meeting both steam capacity requirements and strict emission standards. The system successfully passed compliance testing with excellent results, reinforcing Nationwide Boiler’s position as a provider of effective NOx reduction solutions — not only meeting California’s stringent regulations but also aligning with requirements being adopted across the United States.
The equipment includes a customized 300 HP Hurst firetube boiler, operating at 150 psig, integrated with an Oilon ultra-low NOx burner. The system delivers impressive performance: average NOx emissions of just 3.1 ppm and CO below 2 ppm (corrected to 3% O₂), significantly lower than permitted thresholds. A 3:1 turndown ratio has been validated, and the project team is currently optimizing to achieve a 4:1 turndown, further enhancing efficiency and operational flexibility. This solution not only strengthens the plant’s aging steam system but also sets a new benchmark for clean combustion technology in the food processing industry.

“This project demonstrates the power of collaboration and innovation,” said Jesse Coffee, National Sales Manager at Oilon. “Our burners are designed to achieve ultra-low emissions while maintaining optimal efficiency, and we are proud to see them play a key role in helping California’s food industry meet environmental goals.”
As emission regulations continue to tighten across the U.S., from California to the Gulf Coast and the Northeast, Oilon remains committed to supporting industrial facilities with advanced combustion technology, ready for the future. Oilon’s ultra-low NOx burners are engineered to meet today’s strictest standards — and future changes — ensuring steam generation that is stable, efficient, and always compliant.
