Unified Design Enhances Operational Efficiency

Valmet’s standardized user interface and unified data platform significantly reduce operational complexity. With the Valmet DNA distributed control system, data flows seamlessly between modules, optimizing efficiency when adjusting process parameters. Valmet’s key strength lies in its deep integration of automation and papermaking technology, ensuring tightly coordinated processes and a solid foundation for production optimization.

Proven Core Functions

The paper machine is equipped with Valmet IQ web inspection and monitoring systems to ensure stable product quality. Previously, Yueyang Forest & Paper implemented Valmet’s web break monitoring system on PM8, enabling rapid identification of break locations and causes. The clear benefits led to further investments in PM9 and PM10, supporting timely detection of anomalies and quick operator response. The system has been highly praised by Yueyang Forest & Paper project leaders and is regarded as an industry benchmark.

High-Precision Measurement Applications

Valmet’s ultrasonic consistency transmitters are installed at critical points such as machine chests and mixing chests. This advanced total consistency measurement technology, unaffected by fiber variations, has significantly improved accuracy in pulp consistency control. Stable measurement has greatly reduced production fluctuations. The devices require minimal maintenance, respond quickly, and fully meet customer expectations, continuing the success of ultrasonic consistency measurement deployed on PM8, PM9, and PM10.

Secure Design and Data Management

Valmet and Yueyang Forest & Paper jointly developed a firewall system to safeguard cybersecurity and prevent incidents. Advanced applications from the Valmet Industrial Internet (VII) platform, such as centerline analysis and energy analysis, are being deployed to provide data for production optimization. Backup stations and support systems ensure rapid data recovery and enhance overall system reliability and redundancy.
